There are many styles of taut stitch, generally named by the number of needles and the number of stitches, such as 406-type stitch is called ‘two needles and three threads taut stitch’, 605-type stitch is called ‘three needles and five threads taut stitch’. So the naming characteristics of bandage stitch is: if there is no decorative line, the number of lines than the number of needles more than a number. Such as two needles must be three lines, three needles must be four lines, four needles is bound to be five lines, and so on, if there is a decorative line, plus the number of decorative lines can be named.
covering stitch is characterised by high strength, good tensile properties and strong coverage, so this type of stitch can make the sewn parts firmly maintain elasticity and flat appearance, and also play a role in preventing the loops from disintegrating in parts such as the stitching seams of knitted garment pieces. If the decorative threads are made of rayon or coloured threads with good luster, the seams will have a very beautiful lace-like effect.
The picture below shows a two-needle, three-thread seam.
