Hike to the Qingcheng Mountain

I’m sure you all know the story of the White Snake and Xu Xian, and the White Snake was born in Mount Qingcheng. Mount Qingcheng is one of the famous Taoist mountains in China, as well as a World Heritage Site and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Mount Qingcheng is famous for its beautiful natural scenery, long cultural history and rich Taoist resources. On our company trip to Chengdu, we spent a day specifically to enjoy the beauty of Mount Qingcheng.

When we made the group building schedule, we understood that it would take a long time to climb Mount Qingcheng, so our company bought some food for everyone before we left; we arrived at Mount Qingcheng at 11:00am.

After arriving at Mount Qingcheng, our company started the hiking trip. In order to have a better view of the scenery and to show our persistence, we chose the former between hiking up the mountain and taking the ropeway up the mountain. After an hour, we arrived at Tianshi Cave, where there is a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree, which is said to have been planted by Zhang Daoling, the founder of Taoism.

To the top of the mountain is still a certain degree of difficulty, in the halfway up the mountain, our company partners also appeared to be physically exhausted, at this time we stopped to take a rest, eat some of the dry food that we have prepared, in order to save energy, our colleagues in the company bought the walking stick.

After 3 hours, we finally reached the highest peak of Mount Qingcheng – Laojun Pavilion at 2:00 p.m. Laojun Pavilion is the first peak top of Mount Qingcheng, with an elevation of 1,260 kilometers. Laojun Pavilion was built in the fall of 1992 and completed in the fall of 1995. There are six floors in Laojun Pavilion, which is square at the bottom and round at the top, implying the ancient people’s thought of orbicular sky and rectangular earth. After enjoying the scenery at the top of the mountain, we descended. We got back to our place at around 5 o’clock, which meant that our trip to Mount Qingcheng was over.

Although it was hard to climb the mountain, we gained happiness from it and made us more united as a team.
