Mid Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese festival that has been celebrated by Chinese around the world for thousands of years. Mid Autumn Festival is about the moon, so it is also known as the Moon Festival. It falls on the 15th day of August in Chinese Lunar calendar, i.e. September 21 this year.
Being a legacy of ancient astronomical worship, Mid Autumn Festival is the continuation of the Moon Worship Festival in the past time. In the context of traditional Chinese culture, the moon, like the sun that shows up every day, was worshiped by people as a kind of God. According to research, the Moon Worship Festival used to fall on the autumnal equinox, and with development of history and merged with calendar, it was shifted to 15th day of August.
Mid Autumn Festival is a combination of all the festivals celebrated in this season in the past several thousands of years. In China, autumn is the season of harvest, hence nowadays instead of traditional moon worship, this festival is celebrated as a result of a year’s harvest and people used to gather together to enjoy the happy time of the year. Today, it has become one of the most important festivals for Chinese.
This year is tough for the whole world with Covid continuing causing global damage. Luckily, with strict pandemic containment measures exercised in China, we have achieved great success in controlling viral spread of the deadly virus. Production are brought back to normal and orders are increasing. Therefore, to welcome the arrival of this year’s Moon Festival, our company organized a large party on September 18, 2021. All production is put on hold and workers and staff gather together for a giant dinning party. The image above is a snapshot of workers washing and picking fruits and vegetables.
Apart from that, a dice casting game was arranged with winners receiving rewards like shampoo, bath gel, cosmetic kit and Red Pocket (with cash enveloped). Dice casting is a special activity practised exclusively for Mid Autumn Festival by people from Fujian Province. With the top reward being Zhuangyuan, a title for the first place in official selection test in the past, people will try to cast out the number that makes the Zhuangyuan in the hope of gaining success in their career, study or business.

We are still living amid the threat of Covid, people in many parts of the world especially undeveloped countries are struggling to cope with it.
