What are Terry Socks?

Most of the socks we find in the market are plain socks that come with a single layer finish on both sides of the sock, however, terry socks are designed with an extra layer of terry on the inside of the sock,

giving it a towel look when turned inside out. For this reason, terry socks are also known as terry toweling socks or towel socks. The following image shows plain socks on the left and terry socks on the right.

Types of Terry Socks

Not all terry socks are made the same. There are mainly two types of terry socks in terms of the positioning of terry: half terry socks and full terry socks. Half terry socks refer to the socks with terry on the sole of the sock only while full terry socks have terry on the entire inside of a sock.
